Archetype: The Hero
The hero is typically the figure who stands for goodness and struggles against the evil that threatens that goodness (like a comic-book superhero who struggles against the typical villain). In the literature you are required to read for school, the hero may not be purely good, but still mostly good. The hero in literature may need to struggle against something within him or herself in order to overcome evil. In other words, heroes may not be as straightforwardly good as you remember them from your children’s books and other media.
